Mothers

Do we become our mothers?  I sure hope not.  I take out my parents garbage every week and have missed seeing my mother the last month. She was out to lunch.   She drives me crazy and now I understand why my daughter lives in Montana.  She wants to remember me with a least half a brain.  My mother has a spaghetti brain.  A mushy over cooked spaghetti brain at that.  I needed sugar and caffeine to get me home.  Okay, that was my afternoon, we went to dinner with Fred's mom.  She tells us every time we see the sun set that some day it will be gone.  I asked her today when and she said in a million years.  Just a little warning.
The three S's today, Sassy, Sadie and Smokie.  We are working on their feather jumping skills.  All three of them have beautiful fur.  Great owners who love their kitties make beautiful, healthy kitties. Only Gracie and Cooper on the canine side of friends.
My herd is fine.  I will miss Bailey when he leaves, but Libby will fit in fine. Time for a decaf.

The tropical storm reaches Ohio.

My job has  good and bad points.  I get to enjoy walking in a wonderful park with a very sweet dog, three of four times a week.  I call it my church.  But the down side of being out in nature, is that if it rains or snows, I still walk.  I have learned how to dress.  Gortex is my friend.  But, it still causes problems.  A wet dog is a smelly dog. And of course rain means puddles and puddles mean mud.  Beaker is white at the beginning of the walk and tan when he gets home.  So, today it rained.  Or should I say misted.  It did not bother the dogs at all.  The ducks were not even on the pond.
Today also was cat day.  Sassy and Sadie are becoming experienced feather jumpers.  Smokie is working on his hide and seek treat game.  I think he needs a new trick this year.  The home herd is doing well.  Verbeek is not liking sharing his mother.  But Bailey doesn't care.
I love this time of year.  I get to wear hoodies and Uggs.  Uggs and shorts are a good look.  Only for inside the house.  It is getting dark way to early and I think I need to go to bed around nine.   Save me!!!!!!

First Blog

What a summer!  It was hot, hot, hot.  I'm thinking air conditioning would have been a good idea this year, but we made it through.  Walking Beaker was a test for both of us.  Beaker is the most beautiful white collie in the whole world.  Not only is he very handsome, smart, but he is a sweet boy.  We walk at a nature preserve in the burg.  He thinks it is his very own park and questions every one we meet on our walks. Today was the first day in three months that I wore a sweatshirt.  Today the duck family was our only company.  Luckily the bugs were not out either.
My ever growing herd of kitties are getting along.  Bailey and Libby are more comfortable every day.  Bailey even chased Canna. Bailey and Libby are the newest arrivals. Much loved kitties of Aunt Honey, they now live with my boys and girls.  Minus the big boy, "Quincy". Who would eat anything new in his house. Bailey will have a new forever home, but Libby is now one of the herd.
Now, I wonder how this blogging works.  Are other people interested in what my day is like and how many litter boxes a scoop every day. Or do you want to what really makes me tick and how much protein is in cat hair.
